Congratulations for your project being selected as a finalist in the above category. This project will be recognised and acknowledged at the SCNZ Gala Dinner.
Each category will be further judged, and a category winner will be selected and announced at the Gala Dinner. As such, SCNZ is requesting further information regarding your project on this form.
Each entry will be judged on the following criteria:
Overall Design Merit:
Aesthetics and originality, innovation in design involving the use of steel, efficient use of materials, and integration of services.
Construction Efficiency and Quality:
Demonstration of the advantages of steel, speed of construction, commitment to best practice and quality, safety in the process and containment of overall project costs.
Environmental Sustainability:
How the use of steel is used to enhance a sustainable environment. This can be for example, obtaining a longer life out of the construction by future proofing, use of reuse material, dematerialisation by use of high strength steels, or use of sustainable practices in steel making, fabrication and construction.
Buildability:
Practicality for fabrication and erection; effective documentation at tendering and throughout the project build process; effective use of data transfer technology i.e. construction BIM; effective engagement of the design teams with the construction teams including fabricator and /or detailer and erector.
Innovation in Fabrication and Construction Techniques:
Innovation in fabrication and construction techniques.
